The Research Center for Limnology – LIPI, Indonesia and SEALNet hosted the Virtual Discussion entitled ASEAN Talks with the emerging theme: “Current Challenges in the Conservation of the Tropical Inland Water Ecosystem Region: Towards the 2nd International Conference on Tropical Limnology”. This discussion aimed to be an excellent platform for scientific dialogue that highlights the problems of inland waters in tropical regions and the necessary interventions, wherein limnologists and experts in related disciplines can make significant contributions. Also, the proposed mechanism to establish baselines, data sharing, and knowledge mining platforms has been presented. Furthermore, this event was held as a preparation for the 2nd International Conference on Tropical Limnology, which will be held on November 18th – 20th, 2020.

The discussion in the Zoom room was attended by 253 participants out of 430 registered participants from 23 countries. In the YouTube channel of the Research Center for Limnology, some participants joined the event by live streaming.
